Does a book with a title Poems, Psalms, and Ponderings have a theme? Yes. There are two themes that pervade the book. One is feelings. Poems and psalms convey feelings and leave room for ponderings as those feelings become real and personal. Many of the ponderings can do the same and bring back memories, like my grandmother singing.
Then there is fun. Limericks are a good example, which is where the book begins. The memories may be reminders of good times. Other ponderings may, on the surface, be only “I didn’t know that.” Maybe “knowing that” is needed; wouldn’t you like to know what is in your food? Speaking of food, you’ll find a trick on how to get your kid to eat broccoli.
This is a book to enjoy on many levels. It is not a hodgepodge. Each entry is carefully chosen to give opportunities for growing, remembering, and taking time to ponder.
