Not your usual murder mystery.
The Carter Family are having a busy but relaxed summer. That is, until Detective Mel Ouelette and her assistant Brian Bryant come to them with interesting episodes occurring in Milltown. These happenings are remindful of Three Deadly Sins – No Four in that a note is left at each crime scene. The notes suggest a connection with the zoo, specifically with the lions.
Mary Carter recognizes the quotations on the notes as being from the biblical book of Daniel. Using that information, she is able to predict what comes next so that Mel and Brian can be prepared. There are numerous suspects as the perpetrator of the crimes, all with either the necessary abilities or the obvious connections.
You will find interesting characters, imaginative episodes, and will love meeting the Miss Marple type detective Mary Carter, again.
Here’s another 16 stories in groups of four with amateur detectives from middle school to seniors – senior citizens, that is. Yes, there are four murders, petty thefts, arguments, maybe visitors from outer space and more. Don’t overlook the two episodes based on true happenings involving the author.
These mysteries are interesting with characters who may tug at your heart strings. There are times you will be reintroduced to people from the first book (A Nice Trip) and will see how they are moving on with their lives. Of course, there are chemistry students showing they have interests other than science and who worry about getting their research done and about expressing their affection for each other.
Hold your ears. There’s shouting in many of the stories. And get out your musical instrument or find a piano and sing along with the Matchmaker.
For the story that includes the Matchmaker, audience singing is included. Click on the picture of the book at the left to access the music and an mp3 file so you can sing along with Matchmaker Jennifer.
